Your home during one of our private retreats in Costa Rica is a private Bali-inspired villa in Playa Chiquita, tucked into lush tropical gardens just a short 2–3 minute walk from the Caribbean Sea.
We chose these villas because they offer something we really love for our retreats: the feeling of having your own peaceful home in Costa Rica, rather than staying in a busy hotel or traditional resort.
The intimate property is home to just four private villas, thoughtfully designed with Balinese furnishings, natural textures, local artwork and a beautiful connection between indoor and outdoor living.
Wake up to tropical birds, enjoy a slow coffee on your terrace, wander down to the beach whenever you feel like it, and return to your own private sanctuary between retreat experiences.

Beautifully Designed for Privacy, Comfort & Connection
Inside your villa, you’ll find a spacious king-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.
You’ll also have high-speed Wi-Fi, a covered outdoor living area and your own private garden.
One of our favorite features is the private jacuzzi, tucked into the terrace and surrounded by tropical greenery. It’s a beautiful place to relax together, listen to the jungle, watch tropical rain or simply enjoy having nowhere else you need to be.

The Caribbean, Right Outside Your Door
Playa Chiquita is a peaceful beach community just outside Puerto Viejo, where tropical jungle meets the Caribbean Sea.
Spend free time swimming, walking the beach, watching wildlife in the trees or simply sitting beneath the palms. Nearby Punta Uva is one of our favorite places to enjoy the coast, with beautiful beaches, rainforest and sheltered swimming areas when sea conditions allow.
If you feel like exploring, Puerto Viejo is only a short drive away, with Caribbean culture, local markets, cafés, restaurants, music and a wonderfully eclectic community.
We’ve spent years getting to know this little corner of Costa Rica and love sharing our favorite beaches, restaurants, practitioners and hidden places with our guests.
Nourishing Meals & Private Dining
Beautiful food is an important part of feeling cared for on retreat. Depending on the retreat you choose, your stay may include nourishing chef-prepared meals, private dining at your villa and a special hosted dinner with us at one of our favorite local restaurants.
We focus on fresh, colorful, satisfying food inspired by tropical ingredients, and we’re happy to coordinate dietary preferences and food allergies in advance.
Your villa also has a fully equipped kitchen, and Playa Chiquita, Punta Uva and Puerto Viejo offer a wonderful mix of cafés and restaurants whenever you feel like exploring on your own.

Getting Here
We’re located near Puerto Viejo de Talamanca on Costa Rica’s southern Caribbean coast. The main international airport is Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, and we’re happy to help you choose the easiest route based on your arrival time and preferences.
Fly to Limón + Private Transfer
Our favorite route is a short domestic flight from San José (SJO) to Limón Airport (LIO), followed by a drive of around one hour along the Caribbean coast. We can help arrange a trusted private driver to meet you in Limón and take you directly to your accommodation.
Shared Shuttle from San José
A comfortable shared shuttle is a simple and more affordable way to travel by road. Services operate between the San José area and Puerto Viejo, with travel times usually around five hours depending on traffic and road conditions.
Private Driver from San José
For maximum flexibility, we can arrange a trusted private driver from San José International Airport or your hotel directly to your retreat accommodation. This is especially convenient for couples, extra luggage or later arrivals.
If your international flight arrives late in the afternoon or evening, we may recommend spending one night near San José Airport and continuing to the Caribbean coast the following morning. Once your retreat is confirmed, send us your flight details and we’ll happily help coordinate your arrival.
Want to Stay a Little Longer?
Longer stays may be possible depending on availability. Some guests love arriving a day or two early to settle into Costa Rica, while others prefer extra time at the end to enjoy the beaches, nature and slower Caribbean rhythm.
